This Paris hotel in Pigalle is a time capsule of the Jazz Age, from its art deco facade to its original glass elevator and grand marble staircases.
Built in 1929 – then used as an artists’ retreat before being co-opted by German soldiers – the Hotel Pigalle has been completely revamped by Parisian design studio Festen. He restored many of the building’s period features and paired them with new additions that complement his Gatsby the magnificent atmosphere.

Dark green walls highlight views from top-floor rooms of the Sacre Coeur, while dark wood furniture, vintage brass lamps, and caramel upholstery complete the old-world feel. Downstairs, the hotel’s restaurant wholeheartedly adopts its classic brasserie atmosphere, seated diners on bentwood chairs arranged around linen-covered tables.
Guests can also head up to the hotel’s sunny rooftop and enjoy the view of Montmartre from the safety and comfort of a striped awning and wrought-iron bench.
