Fast food chain Five Guys continues to expand its global franchise with the opening of a new restaurant in Paris, France, offering click and collect-only service, subject to local restrictions.
With the city under nationwide lockdown, Five Guys continued to build and fit out the new outlet, and began trading in November. The full restaurant is expected to open to diners later in 2021.
Construction on the new 600m² development in the Les Halles shopping district was completed in four months, with much of the development taking place under lockdown restrictions. The turnkey delivery was handled in its entirety by the pan-European construction company Agility Solutions with senior architect and country manager (Italy), Maria Luisa Daglia at the helm.
After working for brands such as JD Sports, Victoria’s Secret and Nike, Milan-based Maria Luisa oversaw the cross-border project, acting as a liaison between Five Guys (Paris) and the restaurants brand agency, Black Sheep, based in London.
When fully open, the restaurant will seat around 120 diners at any one time, with a large outdoor seating area allowing additional footfall during the summer months.
Maria Luisa Daglia said: “We are delighted to be working again with the Five Guys team. It is an incredibly exciting brand and Agility is extremely proud to be able to support its continued expansion across Europe.
“The project was not without its challenges – being delivered during the lockdown of Europe – but the restaurant was opened on time and on budget. Hopefully this has laid the groundwork for a strong partnership with more opportunities to work together as the franchise rolls out plans for more locations across the continent.
Laurent Delaunay, Design and Construction Manager of Five Guys France, said: “A big thank you to Agility Solutions for working so hard on the development of our Les Halles store. Although the current circumstances do not allow us to fully open the restaurant, we are already looking forward to the next project together.
Launched in 1986, Five Guys now has more than 1,500 branches in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, as well as 17 points of sale in France. .
